San Diego County Home Loans

The San Diego weather and atmosphere makes it one of the most desirable places to live. Although home prices are quite high in San Diego County, home loans are still available for reasonable interest rates.

Interest rates for home loans have increased throughout the entire nation. The Federal Reserve Board has increased interest rates 12 times since June 2004. This increase can really hurt buyers in high markets such as San Diego, but you can still find home loans that are affordable. Surprisingly, San Diego interest rates as of November 2005 are slightly below the national average. For a 30-year fixed rate mortgage, San Diego County’s rate is 6.37 percent, 0.1 percent less than the national average. A 15-year fixed rate mortgage is even further below the national average. San Diego County’s rate is 5.87 percent compared to the national 6.03 percent. Lastly, one-year adjustable rates are nationally at about 5.49 percent and San Diego County’s rates are close to 4.87 percent.

With the high costs of homes in California, it can be difficult to afford this wonderful lifestyle. Property in San Diego County, which includes homes and condos, was at a median price of $498,000 in September 2005. Luckily, interest rates haven’t skyrocketed out of control, so buyers should still be able to afford housing here if they shop around for good interest rates on their San Diego County home loans. The city is a bustling place for business and recreation. There are numerous beautiful beaches which are ideal for surfing and snorkeling and many other activities. Residents can enjoy beautiful sunsets on coastline property and a fast paced life in the big city of San Diego.
